Art and Design Programme of Study

At Crick Primary School we value art and design as it gives all pupils the opportunity to use their creativity and imagination. Pupils work both collaboratively and independently to develop their artistic, creative and social skills. This allows children to build resilience and curiosity of the world around them. Art and design lessons give the pupils opportunities to develop a range of specific artistic skills in drawing, painting, mixed media, sculpture, craft and design. We aim to provide a high-quality art and design education which engages and inspires pupils to explore their ideas, as well as equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to experiment and create their own works of art with ambition. They explore how art and design contributes to and reflects our history and society.
